PatternStream TrainingOverviewThis 3-day course will teach PatternStream users everything they need to know about publishing their databases to various file formats for print and digital publishing. PrerequisitesParticipants should be experienced with the platform (Mac, Windows, UNIX) that they will be using. Users should be capable of navigating within the system, opening and closing files, creating directories, finding and opening applications, and using the mouse. It is also recommended that users have some knowledge of FrameMaker and databases, although this is not necessary. Basic TopicsThe topics covered on Day One will enable participants to perform the following tasks:
Advanced TopicsThe second and third days of training are designed for PatternStream users who have been using the tool and are ready to create and maintain templates for complex documents. PrerequisitesParticipants will have the experience to complete all tasks included under the Basic Course Topics. To be fair to other participants and to keep the course on schedule, it is important that users are well-versed in the material covered on Day One of training. The topics covered on Days Two and Three will enable participants to perform the following tasks:
NOTE: The PatternStream course, while typically 3 days in length, may be extended to 5 days in order to cover more in-depth material for users who may need more time to master the basics or who just want more support in their initial days as PatternStream developers. |
